If you mean adding a slot in a footprint:

geda/pcb has a limited element model that supports only a few features in=
=20
footprints. It will not let you save outline layer objects in a footprint.

If you want a footprint model that supports any object on any layer, I=20
recommend switching to pcb-rnd. We have a footprint model that does not=20
have restrictions - anything you can draw on a board can be part of a=20
footprint, including lines on the outline layer. Plus anything you draw=20
can be turned into a terminal ("pin").
