Can't help you with the gerbv question; I do it directly from
the pcb file:

pcb -x ps --drill-helper --media A4 --drill-copper --show-legend --multi-file --mirror  file.pcb
lpr file.top.ps file.botom.ps

then I get the drill-helper so I can aim better when drilling.
