Yes, this gives the dependencies the debian package maintainer figured 
would be required. But I was specifically referring to this quote by 
DJ Delorie: "(...) the version of gnome we're currently telling 
everyone we require?"

I know. (You may remember that I tried to cross compile the suite both 
with mini pack and with MXE. My mileage varied...)
