I think I use a hacked 0603 footprint for mine, which has a polarity
indicator, but I usually end up looking at the schematics to determine
which way to put LEDs on.  Even then, it's hard to figure out which
pin is which on the LED itself.  However, that's the type of LED eval
boards use.
