It works pretty much as you=92d expect, except for one wrinkle. In =
gschem, the Edit Attributes window can deal with multiline attributes, =
but the Single Attribute Editor cannot. You thus must edit a detached =
multiline attribute as text. If you create it as text the whole thing =
will be visible. If that isn=92t what you want, you must create the =
attribute as one line with the desired visibility in the Single =
Attribute Editor, and then fill it out in the Edit Text Properties =
window.

Multiline attributes are not only useful for SPICE. Allegro, for =
example, needs a lot of =93pretty please=94 to accept alphanumeric pin =
numbers as valid. The attached symbol contains the most monstrous =
multiline attribute I=92ve created. Hmm, I need to publish my enhanced =
Allegro back end for gnetlist.
