I don't see any ambiguous statements there.

Detached/floating attributes are promoted when the symbol is
instantiated.

The floating attribute value within the symbol can be thought of as the
default. If you remove a promoted attribute of an instance of the symbol
then this value will be used. Otherwise nothing changes.
