QT is PITA when it comes doing just GUI. It wants to own whole program and do it QT way.
And it looks ugly too.

I've found FLTK http://www.fltk.org/index.php to be solution many things. Straight forward to develop,
simple and small binary. Runs on Linux, OS X and Windows.

Even it has some idioms, it doesn't try to limit how to implement stuff. There is also one thing.
FLTK is C++ so writing good C interface, would magically make nice separation almost everywhere.
However a chance for just a chance is bad and I believe there could be better things to do.

My not-gEDA-developer two euro cents to problem which doesn't exist. I'm happy with GTK2
