  I think Fossil would be a god central VCS for this project.  It's developed by the sqlite folks, so it must be reliable,
goes the reasoning.  It is small code size with no outside dependencies and has a web server for project tracking,
and a nice bisect command for debugging related code breakage.  The commands are easy to remember unlike git.
