Hi All,

Just thought I'd mention (as I know some other gEDA guys are also do
metalwork as a hobby), but I just purchased a new toy.. a large CNC
milling.

The machine is of Ukrainian (+German) origin, and is a lovely piece of
(heavy) engineering.

I'm still in the process of preparing it for transport. (Read -
unbolting anything that looks remotely heavy, and still within the
realms of being a 2-man lift. (I need to shed about 1000kg from the
plated weight so it can be forked onto a palette.

I will probably be bugging anyone who'll listen about debugging
thyristor based DC-servo drives any time now, as the machine has a dead
spindle drive. (Also came with a spare, dead spindle drive which I can
rob for any remaining working parts).

If anyone is familiar with Indromat drives (in particular, the TRK 6,
which is a six-pulse thyristor converter), I'd be greatful to hear from
you!

Kind regards,

Peter
