No, I don not have a .prj file in that directory.

It does not matter what directory I try to start pcb in the message log
shows:

Can't change working directory to
   '/usr/local/pcb-elements'
chdir() returned: 'No such file or directory'
Note:  home directory is "/home/rob"
Loading menus from /usr/share/pcb/gpcb-menu.res

I tried creating a new pcb project but it will not load the layout.

Somehow I corrupted my pcb while running it.
