Hello all!

So let us start to bring the Idea of a common platform for EDA to reality.
I don't like vaporware :-)

We need obviously something that attracts people (and firms) to contribute
to such a common EDA platform.

In my opinion, something like a well-repute form of organisation (like
a foundation I guess) helps also to bring vendors into. I already
contacted the lawyer of the Document Foundation (the foundation with
LibreOffice, located at Berlin) last year for a good first talk.
For him, a foundation is also a matter of money (~100k).

Yes, of course, Javier you did a great job organising the Electronic design
automation devroom! My impression is, that there is a need for further
meetings/hackathons dedicated to F/OSS EDA tools and bringing the developer
and user together.

I vote for repeating this event next year, might be even on both days with
more room and time to came up with fruit-full discussions.

At second, thanks all for the nice talks during the day 'til
Vietnamese dinner.

Regards,
Hagen Sankowski
