I think it is not necessary to force lesstif to disable opengl.

At least not for pcb 2011. For gentoo we have separate lesstif and
opengl options, and I really think I used both independently  in the
past. Hope it has not changed for pcb 2014 -- some people way want GTK
without opengl, i.e. when opengl is to slow or buggy.
