Rob,

If you don't have a home/.gEDA folder why don't you create one? What I 
have done to keep only one copy of gafrc is to locate my personal one in 
~/.gEDA and then  put links to it in those cases where it needs to be 
found in another folder as well. Then, when I change my gafrc the 
changes show up everywhere. However, having said that, remember that 
there is at least one case in which you may not want just ONE gafrc for 
everthing. Sometimes, when you have a project with some special or 
atypical requirements, it's really handy to have a unique gafrc in that 
project's directory.
