Sure, you couldn't class it as professional equipment, but then $50 doesn't exactly compare to $20k either.

FWIW, I was looking at a $15k Tek MSO series scope plus several analysis modules, was pointed at the OLS by a friend and was able to do everything I needed with it.  So for $50 I have a hard time not recommending it as it does a decent job for what's almost throwaway cash.
Yes, $50 has it's limitations, the biggest being limited sample ram so the more channels you use the lower duration you can sample

Mine didn't come with probes, but the use of simple 0.1" header for connection means it's really easy to do your own thing, or replace broken ones - I used some old ones from a dead (and 10-15 years old) Tek analyser and those are quite delicate too.
