Subject: [geda-user] making footprints with text on the silk screen layer
From: Britton Kerin <britton DOT kerin AT gmail DOT com>
To: geda-user AT delorie DOT com
Reply-To: geda-user AT delorie DOT com

I've tried adding lines like this

   Text [120000 120000 0 100 "Fooozer" 0]

inside the element parens of existing footprint files but
then the whole symbol seems to not be there.

I also tried the procedure described in 9.2.2 of the pcb
manual but any test that I add vanishes when I do the
"convert selection to element" step.

Is there support for text in footprints? I'd actually like to
be able to put it in copper for when I make my own
boards but perhaps this is a bit crazy and at least I
guess there is a way to do it in silk?

Please CC me on response I'm not sure my subscription
to this list is working right.

Thanks,
Britton
