Yes, gschem is an editor. That's not the job of an editor.
Hierarchy expansion occurs in gnetlist, and at the present time it =
cannot do more than expand refdes attributes. It would be nice to be =
able to write Scheme plug-ins to do more, but too much functionality is =
wired into the C code.
lambda-geda can produce flattened schematics, mimicking the gnetlist =
expansion, so you can have flattened schematics for documentation.
