That is totally cool.
For what it's worth, you can build 3d models in step or stl formats in 
FreeCAD, which I've been doing for my layout programs at work so we can 
get 3D models to help design enclosures for the boards.  I just had no 
idea there was an extension for pcb to do the same thing.
