I was going to ask a very related question some months ago, based on a
discussion in a german forum...

Someone said that he can not use free tools like gEDA/KiCAD because he
can not check the licenses of every symbol and footprint to be
compatible with his commercial EDA product.

So, should we group symbols and footprints in free, GPL, ... to make
commercial use easier?
