Recently I found that some of my previous mods of m4 footprint library now
fail on openSUSE 12.1 (using guile-2.0.2). This was due to the construction
like:
ifelse(condition, result,
          define(`variable', `expression1'),
          define(`variable', `expression2'))

It is OK if the script is interpreted, but when compiled it fixes on one of
the two possibilities.
