The option to make the lines non-transparent should be implemented at
some point.

Cool idea about a visual diff. Integration with versioning or proj.
man. would be great as well.

Yes, definitely thinking about releasing it as open source.
That would also allow faster integration with other browsers if others
could contribute.
I'm not sure exactly on how do it, but I do have that intention.
