Personally, I've noticed a big improvement in snapping to the ends of
off grid lines (thanks Peter!), which is something I often need to do.

Perhaps the much improved snapping of the line tool came at the
expense of the insert tool ?

I've never used the insert tool, so I can't comment on any change in
its behaviour.
