The older syntax for elements (note the Element() and not Element[])
didn't support high-resolution coordinates, and required the origin be
specified separately as the Mark().  In the current syntax, the Mark is
assumed to be at [0,0].

The Mark is also where the little diamond shows up.  The old syntax let
you place the mark independent of the origin, the new syntax puts the
mark at the origin.
