Actually, some of us use netlist export a lot, and it’s generally a strong point of gEDA. I’ve exported successfully to PH70, Calay, Osmond, Tango, and a couple of tools that can import PADS format. I’ve also exported SPICE to an ASIC layout house (and, of course, for simulation). However, the commercial makers of integrated environments keep making import harder at their end.
So, this stuff needs maintenance. File a bug report, maybe somebody will fix it. Or, learn just a little Scheme programming, and you could fix it yourself.
