I am working on a port on this.  From a first look on the sources
it becomes clear that LFN support will be needed.  There is a
rudimentary MSDOS support.  It can be configure using adapted
config.site
and config.sed from some modern djgpp port of some GNU package that
uses
autoconf 2.57 or newer tool to generate the configure script.
At least some source files need to be patched to use the correct
declaration
of getpid.  In the end this means, that the package can not be
configured
and compiled out-of-the-box.
Please be patient.  Making the port may take a week.
