Thank you.

Did it.  Regrettably, no improvement.  Slightly more checker board.

Any other ideas?

FYI - The ATI Radeon VE 7000 has the capacity to use two(2) 
monitors.  I do not know if that helps.

A different video card is not an option.   This is my wife's 
computer, and she needs the existing video card.
