Oh, I thought it was fine because, for example, there's one in the help file

but I'll give it a try..... OK, program still works, thanks.  After logging off
I'll reboot to DOS and see if that changes anything.

Yes, vesainfo gets filled in which is why I found the strings not working part
so strange.
