Hi,

do you think djgpp beta (of 2003-Nov-30) compiles with gcc 3.3.4? I
got this error:

...
c:/djgpp/bin/make.exe -C compat/bsd
gcc ... -c bcmp.c
bcmp.c: In function `bcmp':
bcmp.c:17: warning: use of cast expressions as lvalues is deprecated
bcmp.c:17: warning: use of cast expressions as lvalues is deprecated
make.exe[3]: *** [bcmp.o] Error 1
make.exe[2]: *** [all_subs] Error 2
make.exe[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make.exe: *** [subs] Error 2

I doubt this will get better with gcc 3.4.x... :) My bcmp.c is
identical to current CVS version(!).

The code in memcmp.c looks sane (as an inspiration to fix the bcmp.c),
are you interested in a "cleanup" patch for newer gcc? Or do you
think it won't be that easy (so I don't waste my time trying)? The
beta had to be compiled with 3.2.x I guess... Are all you developers
using that version of gcc still? :-O
