Note that that is a version of COMMAND.COM that minimizes memory footprint by temporary saving its state in XMS memory while running other programs. I suspect it's meant to be copied to COMMAND.COM if you know you're on a system with XMS. It's possible that this is only a temporary name. Next month we might have COMMXMS.COM or COMMANDX.COM or something else. If FreeDOS really has decided that this is how COMMAND.COM should be named (which I strongly doubt), then a patch might be good. Right, MartinS
