Stealing isn't the only way to get something for free. Several others
on this group (c.l.c.) are large advocates of Free Software; and while
that term isn't meant to imply that you can get such software "for
free", in practice that has always been true (since even if you demand
payment for the software, the first person to buy it is free to offer
it "for free" on his/her FTP dump). Still, companies like RedHat seem
to be making enough money from Free Software.

But even RMS wouldn't call anyone a heretic for spending /money/ on
software - in fact, he rather hopes, you will. I fully intend to
spend some cash on a donation to the FSF as soon as I have enough to
spare :) (living in downtown Palo Alto isn't very cheap).

At any rate (to Graaagh), software licensing philosophy is topical on,
lessee, none of the crossposted groups :)
