Well files with the system or hidden attributes or both are not touched by
defrag AFAIK. So you might do a "dir /ah /s " from c:\ to find out what
are the hidden files and then see whether they are the files you tried to
delete or other system files.

Well the fsck workalike for windoze is scandisk, but I really don't think
that this is a problem with a bad FAT, more likely that there are plenty
of files with the system or hidden or both attributes turned on and that
defrag is rightly refusing to move them.

AFAIK this doesn't work, my brother tried this and apparently windoze 98
refused to allow this
