Or GEM. If DJGPP users and developers look for GLP'd GUI desktop
environment (with GDOS under it) they should look at

http://www.devili.iki.fi/cpm/gemworld.html

Well, GEM is not able to run DJGPP stuff, but when discussion is
about future, it may be good as GUI base.
I didn't try it nor looked at source but it sounds interesting.

Some info about GEM follows:

GEM is a GUI desktop environment produced by Digital Research about the time
that MicroSoft did the first version of Windoze. MS won, unfortunately. :-(

GEM SOURCE

Caldera has just released the source for GEM, and related products, to the
public domain, under the GPL; the GNU Public Lisence. The sources will be
available here first. :=) Since it is now GPL'd, you can do pretty much whatever
you want to with it as long as you honor the GPL lisence included with the
files.

The first offering will be the source for GEM itself. This source is RAW. That
means that it doesn't necessarily compile into a running program. It will take
the efforts of some talented programmers to clean it up, and turn it into a
solid, viable, operating system. I believe that there are several people out
there who are more than capable of doing this.

HACKERS ALERT

Gene Buckle (geneb AT deltasoft DOT com) is talking about bringing the GEM/3 desktop to
Linux. From Linux, GEM could be moved (in a much improved form) to FreeDOS and
other (Palm Pilot!) environments. If you think this is a neat idea, please
contact him at geneb AT deltasoft DOT com. If there is enough interest in this he will
get a website and mailing list going to support the project(s)."
