if you refer to the color palette, use the functions get_palette() 
and set_palette() to set and get the colorpalette. the palette is a 
PALETTE type, defined in allegro.h. check your allegro help indexes 
for more help. (by the way, everything becomes much easier if you try 
to make gradually altering palettes).
