What's the intended scope of the guide?  Is it just for gcc
or do you want guides for the GNU tools?  I realise that
the standard GNU (and man and info pages) documentation
covers some of the aspects but there are some platform
specific issues (such as running bash) that take a little
fiddling to get going.
