There are a lot of improvements in C++ support.

It's not only RHIDE, any other DJGPP program will expose subtle bugs
when it invokes the compiler, because of incompatibilities in how long
command lines are passed.  For example, if you use Make to build a
project, you will have similar problems of truncated command lines.
