Hello,
section 22.8 of the DJGPP FAQ ( http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/ )
discusses cross-compilation to embedded targets using DJGPP tools. This
FAQ was a big help to me when I built my cross compilers, and in an
attempt to give something back I have posted DJGPP-based compilers for
the Motorola M68K and Power PC, and the Hitachi SH-3 family, on my web
site, http://www.objsw.com , for free download. It is a big job to
build these compilers, and it might save people a lot of time to use
these pre-built tools.
The compilers are based on EGCS 1.03a, and were built using DJGPP
version 2 so they can compile huge programs using virtual memory. They
will soon be updated to EGCS 1.1b, and more embedded targets will be
added as demand dictates. I have also posted versions of GDB which run
on DOS and debug these embedded targets.
Resources available include a mailing list called crossgcc, and also the
CrossGCC FAQ, both of which are dedicated to cross-development using Gnu
tools. The FAQ is at http://www.objsw.com/CrossGCC , and the mailing
list is mailto:crossgcc AT cygnus DOT com . The mailing list currently has
over 500 subscribers. New users may subscribe to the list by sending
mail to mailto:crossgcc-request AT cygnus DOT com with the word 'subscribe' in
the body of the message (leave out the quotes in the message).
