"In fact, Intel is becoming desperate to find new tasks that can require
users to buy faster processors. It's hard, if not impossible, to find an
everyday office application that can obsolete a 200-MHz Pentium uP."
EDN Magazine, July 16, 1998 page 53
The article talks about the new standards to move modems to the motherboard
using the main CPU to make the modem tasks instead of a DSP. Using it and
software wavetables a 400MHz PII will be needed for silly stuff like Office
99 running with W98.
