Not working--how?  Do they crash? do they print an error message and 
exit?  Please don't spare us the details, we have no way of guessing 
them.

This is a Very Bad Idea.  You need to unpack DJGPP packages with a 
program that does NOT support long file names, otherwise your 
installation won't work.  Try a DOS version of PKUNZIP.
