ok - Lets please stop this thread now. Its obviously sucking more bandwidth
then it is worth.

I hadnt planned on responding to this thread earlier because I had figured
it would stop since no one was answering the most important (and easy)
question in the message.

Perhaps someone can give a url or method to see the faq eh?

Now I must counter-flame you.

Yes, there are alot of newsgroups. I dont know about them all requiring
the user to post in straight text though. Where do you get this
information.

First off, notice above where I had requested a URL or some method of
getting to this FAQ. I know what a FAQ is, I have read many, but that is
beyond the point. Knowing what one is, or having read it is relatively
a moot point in this case. As of yet, Ive not been able to read the FAQ
and therefore cannot determine the reasoning of why posting in formatted
text wouldnt be a good idea. All replies thus far on this issue have
been based around bitching about the suggestions made, rather then giving
any reason why.

Perchance you could follow the FAQ yourself, rather then engaging in an
all out flame-fest and instead explain your viewpoints. Making statements
such as "Read the FAQ" when the original post questioned where the FAQ
was or if it does exist is one of the dumbest things you can do (please
excuse the grammer, Im no English Major).

*You're assuming that every newsreader on the planet can read RTF, are
*you one of those moron who send email as Word documents ?

Im not assuming anything. Im asking. Notice the '?'. And I personally
despise use of Word for Email. My email client is HTML, RTF, and Plain
Text compatible. I use such clients so that I can read messages no
matter who sends them. Its my personal cure to this exact problem. If
I want to read the message, I dont bitch back to the poster to "Please
restate in Plain Text". Granted, its kinda their responsibility if they
want to get the point across, but I do it in a more kinder, gentler method.

*Look for the usenet standards, you'll see there is no provision that a
*newsreader has to deal with anything but straight text, some platform
*can't display anything but straight text.

Thanks for posting the URL to said FAQ. Tell me about this 'Usenet
standards'.
