I won't repeat the descriptions but GREP stands for:
	"Global Regular Expression Print"
EGREP:  Extended Global Regular Expression Print
FGREP:  Fast Global Regular Expression Print

The name comes from the ex expression: g/regular expression/p which is
"globally find all lines matching 'regular expression' and print them"
according to "The UNIX Programming Environment" by Kernighan and Pike.
