It probably depends on which version of povray, BorlandC and DJGPP you 
refer to...

For pov 3.0 and djgpp 2.0, the DJGPP compiled PoV (optimised with -O3) 
ran slightly faster than the default Watcom compile, which is said 
(though I did not try it myself) to be better than its Borland 
counterpart.

On a 486DX75, I got an average 10% increase in speed (though varying from 
one scene to the other). However, I was told that Pentium compiles were 
slower than the Pov official distribution...
