YES, there is something wrong!
I just found that there is a bug in the streambuf class. The solution
is to get the source code, fix the bug and rebuild the library.

The solution is given in the mail-archive of www.delorie.com
Thanks to Wang TianXing for posting the solution earlier. (and blame 
me for not knowing it).
