Hello ! In a previous mail, our friend Orlando Andico said :

The only thing Linux adds to the command line when you specify "Pentium"
optimizations is that the function and loops alignment may be 2 bytes
instead of 4 on a 486. This only reduces the size of the executable file,
without any speed change. Indeed, there were two releases of GCC patched
by Intel themselves that implemented some more advanced features for the
Pentium, and I was told it resulted in a speed gain of about 10%. But GCC,
even the latest release, has no built-in support for Pentium yet, but
indeed, this would be a great improvement to add.

  Best regards, Frank.
