If the ``trouble'' is that you don't find a program which does this well
enough, get the DJTAR program from v2.0 djdev archive.  It will decompress
and untar such archives and should be what you are looking for.

You need a program named Ghostscript to print the files (be warned: 
it's rather slow on an Epson) and another one called GhostView (runs on 
top of Ghostscript) to view them.  There are ports for Windows for both 
of these floating around; your archie will tell you where (look for 
gs351**.zip and gsview13.zip).
