| I would like to get EMacs 19.30 for DOS and I know the filename is
| emx1930*.zip, but is there another place to get them besides DJ's site?
| I really don't want to tie up the site unless absolutely necessary, and a
| search on OAK's Simtel didn't turn up anything. Any ideas where I can
| find it? Thanks

good for you. I saw that it finally arrived at our local simtel
mirror, and because I haven't seen the official anountment yet, I'll
attach a copy.

+-----------------------
|I have uploaded:
|
|SimTel/msdos/editor/
|em1930x.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, base (req'd) (1/6)
|em1930l1.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, lisp (req'd) (2/6)
|em1930l2.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, lisp (req'd) (3/6)
|em1930ei.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, supp (req'd) (4/6)
|em1930s1.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, sources (5/6)
|em1930s2.zip Gnu Emacs 19.30 for msdos, sources (6/6)
|
|This is the binary distribution of emacs 19.30 for msdos. Emacs is the
|extensible, customizable, self-documenting real-time display editor. The
|file em1930x.zip contains a bare-bones runnable emacs, so if you want to
|try, just download this one. Installation instructions and a sample startup
|file are included.
|
|Special requirements: A 386 or better CPU, 4Mb or more memory and 15Mb disk
|space. A math coprocessor is required if emacs is used in a MS Windows DOS
|box, as 387 emulation does not work.
|
|Changes: This version contains some msdos-specific enhancements that are
|submitted to the emacs maintainers but have not made it into the 19.30
|source code. The patches are included.
|
|This program is distributed under the GNU Copyleft. In case of problems with
|this program, please send an email message to gnu-emacs-help AT prep DOT ai DOT mit DOT edu
|or post a message in gnu.emacs.{help,misc} or comp.emacs.

+--------------------

I must say that 19.31 will probably be a lot better than this version.
On the other hand, this version is better than 19.29. And who knows
what 19.32 will bring...
