I did but the internal vesa driver in go32 returns:

GrSetMode: unknown adapter type in  driver

I have re-written the graphics table in vesa_s3.asm and found out with modetest.exe that with 4 
bit (16 colors) the vesa modes 1xxh it will change res but with 8 bit (256 colors) it needs the 
S3 2xxh accelerated modes to change res. But alas only modetest.exe works, I think that 
vesa_s3.grn was written for a stealth card an not 864/964 chipsets by Phoenix.
