Are you sure?  Gcc 2.6.3 has been known to recompile itself (>>1 module program)
with optimizations enabled, so at least it's not as buggy as your posting might
imply.

Stephen Turnbull used to offer gcc 2.5.7 and DJGPP 1.11maint5 on his FTP server,
but he discontinued this service lately.  You can write him (his e-mail and the
URL for his server are in the FAQ list).
