DJGPP 1.08 seemes to have some problems with dv/x. Using programs compiled
with v1.08 affects serial ports!

Example1: you're using modem and run a program in the other window. All
i/o to modem stops, permanently.

Example2: you're running a large (say 1Mb) program (compiled w/djgpp 1.08).
Moving mouse hangs up machine.

Mouse problems as well as modem problems seem to have something to do with
the size of program. If you're running a small program (say 100k) no
problems arise (usually). If the program is big (1M) you're in trouble.
Problem is certainly not a swap problem, no swapping occurs with my
configuration.

Problems seem to have something to do with the amount of traffic as well.
Using some middle-sized program (500k or so) can be done assuming mouse
is moved *very* carefully. Too rapid mouse movement or moving/resizing
windows hang up machine.

I've never hang up machine with modem, but amount of traffic affects there
as well. If you'r doing something simple like "AT -> OK" all is fine. As
soon as more traffic appears, say the other end sends a whole line of data,
and voi'la, no traffic in or out anymore.

I must add I'm not the only one having this problem. Modem problem seemes
to be quite common and I know others having same trouble with the mouse.
Certainly no hardware problem.

I'll take a look at the go32 some day when not as buzy as now, or maybe
someone else more familiar with go32 has solved it by then..
