Subject: Segmentation violation with EMM386 4.44
To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu

I have run into 'segmentation violation in pointer 0x00000015 at 40:78f51
exception 14 at eip=78f51' when using djgcc and the switch -O and EMM386
version 4.44.
Without the optimization switch or with EMM386 4.20 everything works fine.
I have not noticed any drawbacks in using version 4.20 of EMM386 instead
of version 4.44.
The EMM386 4.44 came with MS-windows 3.1 and the EMM386 4.20 came with
MS-DOS 5.0.
Can Microsoft really have changed into backward incompatibility???
Seems dangerous if they have!

Peter.
