Subject: Which EMM emulator runs go32

You might consider picking up one of the multiple configuration utilities from
SIMTEL20 (or wherever). The utilities all allow some form of boot-time
selection of a customized configuration for a particular group of tasks.

As an example, for my system, I use a configuration capability provided by
DR-DOS (not public domain) to provide different boot configurations for:

    - a general configuration (with emm386)
    - Windows
    - gcc and emacs
    - kermit and other telecomm
    - CAD programs

Each of these configurations is customized (read: minimized) for the intended
applications. Thus, the kermit configuration has no TSR which use the
keyboard interrupt vector, the CAD configuration doesn't define the gcc
environment variables, etc.

This approach works pretty well for me; I can suggest some public domain
programs which allow boot-time configuration if you're interested, but e-mail
me off-line to help limit the non-gcc traffic in this forum.
