Look for Demacs at wsmr-simtel20.army.mil in <MSDOS.DEMACS> and also at
simtel mirror sites such as wuarchive.wustl.edu in /mirrors/msdos/demacs.
Two guys in Japan ported Emacs-18.55 (and some of 18.57) to dos using djgpp.
You need to get everything in the directory if you get demacs, otherwise you
may miss some information you might need.  Some sites that archived demacs
archived corrupted copies, but I can vouch that simtel20's copy (and on
its mirrors) is not corrupted.
Speaking of the GNUISH project, I believe that it is dead.  The mailing list
no longer exists and it's been years since any ports were done.  The GNUISH
programs were compiled using either small or medium memory modules and people
are always complaining that they can't use the programs because their input
files are too big for the GNUISH utilities.  You might want to consider getting
the GNU source code and compiling it yourself with djgpp.  It's usually not
too hard to do.
